Captain Pete Two-Man Redfish Tournament

After three weather-related postponements, the Marco Sportfishing Club's highly anticipated fishing tournament finally kicked off on November 22nd. Eleven eager teams departed from San Marco Marina at 8:00 AM, with a shotgun start sending three teams out every 30 seconds. Two additional teams launched from the Jolley Bridge.

Despite some windy conditions, the day proved to be ideal for fishing. Four teams returned to San Marco Marina to weigh their catches.

Tournament Results:

1^st Place: Chris Hutchings and Allen Lobos (2 fish, 7.00 pounds)  $350 cash + $50 Sandbar gift card

2^nd Place: Jay Jones and Keith Wohltman (1 fish, 5.5 pounds) $300 cash + $50 Sandbar gift card

3^rd Place: Bob Bixler and Bob Trento (1 fish, 4.66 pounds)  $235 cash + $50 Sandbar gift card

4^th Place: Ken Robertson and Dave Dodd (1 fish, 4.44 pounds) $175 cash

While the tournament was a success, many anglers reported catching smaller redfish. The club is excited to announce that in next year's tournament those small redfish will have grown to become keeper size!
