Buddy Trip February 26, 2025
The outing consisted of ten boats and 31 anglers. The weather started out with mild winds that picked up later in the afternoon. The air temperature was nearly perfect. The tides were low, and some had difficulty getting off the lift. The group fished areas from Coon Key, Whitney Channel, Camp Key, Sugar Bay and the surrounding areas.
The catch consisted of bonnethead shark, silver trout, speckled trout, whiting, jack, snapper, and of course some nice feisty catfish. An angler took approximately ten catfish home. His intention was not to fillet them and deliver them to Cocomo’s. His purpose was to put them in his crab traps.
That evening, 40 people enjoyed cocktails and dinner at Cavs Kitchen and Cocktails. The evening was a wonderful combination of laughter and friendship. The camaraderie that filled the restaurant was a demonstration of what fishing with friends can lead to. It was a magnificent Marco fishing day ending with dining with great friends.
Here is a photo L to R Victor Ordija, Steve Wade, Joe Perino, and Keith Wohltman showing their catch of speckled trout whiting, and silver trout. There was also a bucket below half filled with catfish.
