Pictures from the "Free" picnic held at Sarazan Park on November 30, 2006.  A good time was had by all.  Ed & Dave showcased their new "beer coil box" that insures the coldest beer under any circumstances.  They built the box and have donated use of it to the club for special events.

SOMETHING FISHY PICNIC (Oct 2006)

What a picnic!  Over 50 folks showed up to cheer on the tournament fishermen (fisher-persons)

Lots of dogs and burgers were eaten, and, I understand, a keg was emptied!  The losing team cooked and cleaned up...all is well, as it should be in paradise.

Awards were made,  Joe Sajdak cleaned house with the biggest and most, and walked away with the goodies and cash!  He needed an escort to haul stuff to his car!

These are the winning fish.  Joe caught both the largest shook AND the largest redfish!  Wow! What a fisherman!

This fish (estimated at 12 lbs) made 3 powerful slow runs. We all thought it was a large stingray on the line.    -   Ron G.
My buddy Steve and I caught 2 reds at 22 & 23 inches, and Steve got a 28.5 inch red all in local water to Marco.

I caught this fish Sept 29, 2006 on a near shore wreck.  I was using finger mullet which I caught with my cast net several days ago.

This fish measured 34" with the tail pinched.  I am looking forward to snook dinner tomorrow night.   34 inches,12 Lbs...Jim Rumph
Half a fish is better than no fish at all?

Actually, the fish is whole (I think Art decided it was eaten) it was a 200 to 225 lb goliath that I could not raise fully off the deck..I think he lived to tell the tale...John Cav

Cape Ramano Joint Power Squadron Picnic...
On September 18th the Gulf had 3 to 4-foot waves; fine for bigger boats, but rough on the little guys.  Andy Battaglia and Bryan Mordecai were the first to arrive at Cape Romano, setting up chairs and umbrella.  Next, were Perry and Connie London in their new mini-catamaran, soon followed by Erin and Jim Olmes (sans Nikki - too many sand spurs last time).  The area has changed significantly since last year, beach area different and smaller, the old fish shacks are gone (replaced by a sign advertising “beachfront homesite”, the stilt house is gone, and now the dome house is partially in the Gulf.  As we were busy solving the world’s problems and basking in the beautiful sunshine over the southern tip of Cape Romano, a band of dark clouds snuck in from the northwest trying to join their cousins from the south and east. Cloud-to-sea “sparkies” prompted a hasty lunch and a prudent dash through the “back way” to the relative safety of Caxambas Bay. It was great to just be out on the water and be with friends on the beach. Sorry the trip was cut short, there are still a few problems left for you to solve at the next picnic.             Andy B.
